Jobber or Mopar for oil pressure sender?
Jobber or Mopar for oil pressure sender?
Last night on my way to work, dash chime would go off and oil pressure gauge would drop to 0 every time I let the engine idle so I hook up a mechanical gauge and of course I have 20 psi at idle.
So today I decide to pull the wire harness off the sender and see if maybe the connection is bad.......... seems its a little more than just the connection as oil starts dripping out of the sender LOL
Anyway has anyone had luck with an aftermarket jobber sender or is this one of those dealer only type parts?

On my 01, the sender was $68 at Cummins, verses $150 from Dodge. The 'sensor' detects pressure or not. The PCM, calculates what the pressure 'should' be, and that is what is shown on the dash. That is why I added a mechanical oil psi gauge in the A-pillar. I just got the 03, so I am not sure about it, but will be re-installing my gauges.
I will check out my local cummins.
I know its a simple yes or no type sender but some times jobber stuff is really not up to par (not that the OEM one was very good IMO ) and sometimes not really all that far off the OEM stuff for much less money.
