ISB in other than Ram
ISB in other than Ram
I know that this seems off the wall, but I was wondering if anyone out there has experience with using a 6BT, or better yet an ISB in a construction equip application? I have an old Fiat-Allis 10B bulldozer with a bad engine. Can't seem to find a used engine and would like to adapt in a Cummins ISB. My pick up truck experience VS the dozer tells me that it would be a lot easer to start and probably have a little more power. I think throttle control would be better also.
Thanks

If you can sort out the wiring and electrical part, then go for it. I used to be a mechanic at a Komatsu Equipment dealership. They had 4 and 6 cylinder cummins for the last 15 or 20 years at least. They've used the 12v setup and the 5.9 and 6.7 Common rail. Keep the engine adapter from the machine and bolt it up to the back of the cummins. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work, but then I've never done it!
