Interesting info on TSBs (or lack of)

I was listening this weekend on the radio to Pat Goss. He is one of the top mechanics in the nation. He had a gentleman on and they were talking about TSBs...They said in the last year most manufactures have found a way around issueing TSBs. They isssue advisories (actually they all have different names for them) These ONLY go to the dealers. TSBs are public domain and they were seeing "too many repairs being done as a result of TSBs..I find that funny and sad all at the same time. So as they said, dont be looking forward to many TSBs in the future. It is all being handled behind closed doors and unless you have a friend who is a mechanic and works for a dealership you will NEVER know about them. Aint it nice how the manufactures care so much for their customers..

Yup, they are also called "Customer Satisfaction Bulletins". The catch is you need someone to tell you about them. I came across 1 and begged for a copy, but could not even hold it in my own hands. Now that was satisfaction!!

I wouldn't care if it was the best kept secret in the world if they would just fix the problem when we take it to them.
