Installed DD bigline pushpump today

Took about 1 1/2 hours to do it, quite easy. Pump is a little louder than stock pump but when the truck is running who cares!

Kit was $309.00 from DD, did not seem to notice an increase in horsepower as over stock but the reason I put the pump on was due to fuel starvation under hard accell causing miss-fire which it completely cured. I do plan on further mods so considered this a need to do thing.

Does that pump tie into the existing fuel line or is that a separate hoise you had to run? How did you wire it in?

Well it kinda went like this:
1) cut supply line just ahead of transfer case crossmember (drink beer)

*kit uses factory wiring with supplied adapter*

2) see photo for mounting of pump.

3) remove stock lift pump. (drink another beer)

4) use stock lift pump o-ring on kit adapter.

5) install adapter onto filter housing in place of stock lift pump.

6) remove banjo bolt off bottom of filter housing and the same line coming off filter housing bottom going to cp3.

7) install kit fittings and cut supplied fuel line to length and slide over barb fittings. (starting beer bottle pyramid)

8) crack open water drain and bump starter to prime and then close drain, then start and your done!

Need it????

I was talking to local diesel mechanic/speed shop. The guy told me the stock bosh fuel pump had problems and that I will max it out if I use the Edge Ez on the #5 setting (which I really won't use much, unless a powerstroke whizzes by). I am getting a 5th wheel and will be towing my boat or Jeep/trailer too.

I was wondering if this is your situation?

I have an AFE Cold Air intake and 5" Dynomax straight through muffler.
I currently haul a 1500# bed mount and pull the 3500# Jeep/trailer. The Edge Ez goes on tomorrow.

Thanks
Greg

what if you left the stock LP in place? would you get too high of a pressure by compounding the pressures? [i am thinking of adding an extra fuel LP near the tank that does about ±12psi]

What is the pressure supposed to be on these? I do some injection stuff and have a gauge, I can monitor mine that way. I JUST hooked up the Edge Ez and am concerned about the fuel pump now (although I'm on setting #2). Also, I'm not a diesel mechanic, so I have no idea on this next question.... Do these have lift pumps and fuel pumps or just fuel pumps? Or is the term interchaingable or only applicable to diesels?
thanks
Greg

Nick, I would look in the 03 service manual and find out what the pressure should be, I would think if you did that all you would need is a regulator.

This question has been bounced around for a while now. From what the vendors here are saying the CP3 injection pump only needs positive pressure, that basicly is as little as 1 psi. I have a pressure gauge in my truck and with the EZ set on level 5 I can easily draw my pressure down to 1 psi, from a running 8-9 psi. The 3rd gen trucks do not run very high pressure stock. I am waiting on a quality kit from one of the vendors here, eg stainless line and bigger line all the way up from the tank with around 20 psi at idle.
