Injector Recommendations 2007 5.9
Last year on a long road trip my intake heater light came on. Read some forums and the suggestion was to put in some injector cleaner. Sure enough, light went off and have since driven for over a year with no issues. Last week light came on again. Injector cleaner did not do the trick this time. Took truck to dealer who says all of the injectors need to be replaced at a cost of $4400 with remanufactured injectors. Looking for recommendations. 2007 5.9L. Their injectors are $2400 as part of the bid. Will probably buy aftermarket and have non-dealer diesel mechanic install them. Thanks for the help and input in advance.

I recommend Don M at F1 Diesel in Texas. Call the shop line, April will help you out. I think new bodies are around 200 each, if the tips are still good, you're looking at 1200+labor and shipping.
If you're a decent mechanic, you can do the install yourself. The only special tools you'll need is a barring tool from cummins, some feeler gauges and a device to pull the injector tubes out- I used a fuel line coupling to pull them out. There are a few good how-to threads around here.

Valley Injection in Woodland CA did mine. I took a tour through their shop and was very impressed. On of the only certified Bosch rebuilders and they have all the super high dollar equipment and the certified "doctors" on their use.
