idles rough
idles rough
Greetings from Indiana! My 06 idles rough at stoplights. Its bad enough that my wife even complained, and she knows that to fix it will cost money!
However, I notice that when I work the truck hard the rough idle disappers for a while. Last week drove 600 miles with the car trailer, truck idles smooth as glass. Been doing my normal around town driving and rough idle is slowly coming back. Any ideas? I know some people have had injector problems, the oil level never changes and I change my fuel filter every 15K.

carbon buildup from not working it hard
sludge build up inside injectorbodys themselves
stop at a truck stop, get a bottle of howes meener cleaner, folow the directions, drive it HARD, load it down, get the egt's and fuel flow up and keep them there.
trust me, your guna pick up a couple mpg, run smoother etc.
and yes, it is a diesel work truck, not a lux suv, treat it as such and it'll run better.

Thanks, ill try the cleaner. The truck has 60K and cant get anywhere with the dealer. They always tell me cant duplicate the problem or the say all the trucks do that. My dealer isnt closing, the service would probably be far worse if it was!
