Identifying Mystery Radiator wire bundle

I've been having a problem with my '06 mega cab overheating a bit while climbing moderately steep forest roads, only happens at slow speeds and doesn't much matter what the outside temperature is. No problem towing 8000# on flat ground, up modest grades, etc., at highway speeds or even a bit less.
In the pics attached is a wire bundle that's been cut between the Radiator fan and the serpentine belt, the mystery wire. Checked out my neighbors '05 to see if I could trace the wire, he doesn't have this bundle.
Stopped by the dealer and inquired at both the parts counter for a schematic and at the service desk for info but neither had any idea what it was for. Also did a quick search here, no dice. Could this be the culprit for the overheating?

My family is taking the truck cross country next week and I'd like to button up any potential problems prior to their departure. So if anyone could let me know what in the world this is called, the purpose, the part number, etc. and if this could be a potential issue I'd be gratefully grateful

That's your fan clutch wires. If you do buy a new fan clutch, do not buy an aftermarket one. For some reason or trucks are very picky and only like OEM fan clutches.

Thanks, I thought all clutch fans were sort a centrifugal clutch. Didn't even think it might have been that.
