agree withya cma1day-- the vibe starts at the engine-- I did the PS hose TSB with the tumor, uh weight on the hose-- dampened the vibe down but it's still there and inexcusable- vibe is more like a giant electric shaver- feel it in the gas pedal and NOT the brake pedal- steering wheel- flipdown armrest and although less noticable, in the seat- vibe changes with engine rpm changes- not speed changes- also had two new drive shafts put on- didn't make a diff- sorry gentleman but zip-tying a $40k truck together is something I don't accept-- it's time for dc to fix this properly

You are missing the entire point here! It doesn't matter who started the thread at all. You will receive input from anybody who thinks they have a similar situation and they try to pass it along.

It may not be the same as your's but that doesn't mean you have the right to jump down their throats about it. You need to show some civility in your posts and just ignore the ones that you think are not correct.

After all, they are posted in the spirit of helping you , whether you realize it or not. Don't show your appreciation by slapping somebody who is trying to help you, even if it seems off the mark to you.

I won't argue this point with you any further, You will either decide to be more polite in your posts, or they will be deleted.

Not sure about 2100 vibs, but when I was a young sailor, I knew a lady that liked to lie down with few vibs herself.

mine does it, but i have found the fix. simple really, run at 2000 or 2200 rpms no problem. oh yea, the banks exhaust also helps get rid of the whine.

merry christmas all

Tim--are you saying that whining we've referred to (in other threads, I know sorry to get off topic) is in the exhaust?

no it is not in the exhaust, just the banks is loud enough to make noise blend in. as picky as i am the noise does not bother me. surely not enough to get so uptight over.

Mine is not a noise,
it's "only" a vibration I feel in the floor ,I've never felt it anywhwere else.
The only thing the p/s hose tsb changed was to change the rpm's it started at .And I can't feel it in neutral or park at any rpms anymore.

SORRY GUY"S this might not be the most popular post, but since when did it become our problem, when I buy a truck/car and it is new, I do not expect to have to fix something that is an engineering problem. Hey, I am a loyal Dodge/Cummins customer, but I am no fool. I love doing maintanence, and I love adding items to a truck, but thats as far as this guy goes. I sure as hell hope this isn't going to be another probalem like the lift pump.

no, y-knot, you're right on the money-- when you spend this much for a truck any problems should be taken care of by the oem- not zip-ties and jury-rigged counterweight afterthoughts-- keep the pressure up on dc-- I told the dealer if it was marginal service from the factory, mind you not my dealer cause their great, I would have bought a GM- this isn't a problem that qualifies for a lemon-law but needs to be addressed- everybody keep calling- if anyone has some particularly good numbers to call then post them- I don't think anyone here is too shy to call....

Submitted for Lemon law procedures today. Tried new drive shaft, didnt work,
nonone seems to know what to do. Well I do, give me my money back, I,ll keep everyone posted and perhaps some of you will do the same. I have owned my truck for a little over a month now and dc continues to ignore me, well we shall see.

Wow! These vibes are about to insue a ciber brawl! I wish my '03 only had the 2100rpm engine vibe. I could live with that one. Mine would vibrate like a cheap motel vibrating bed for a quarter "with the engine off" at 70mph in neutral coasting down through the vibration speed. It was intolerable. There are more than one or two sources for our vibrations in these trucks. The 2100rpm engine vibe and then the driveline vibe that's "not engine related" but speed related. Why my '05 steel driveshaft having 10.5" AAM same as my '03 Cummins Ram but with Hemi is so smooth and vibration free is beyong my understanding. But I've fixed my vibe and I'm happy with it. I hope DC comes up with something for you diehards soon.
My '98 5spd also had the hydro boost brake booster and it transmitted the 2100rpm engine buzz into the steering wheel and peddles. I tried everything including the ty-wrap trick. It finally smoothed out on it's own with close to 90k on the truck. But it was a long time getting there...
