Most of them are set up so that when it it turned on with a switch on the dash or on the shifter, the brake will come on about a second after the accelerator is at idle position.

The delay is handy, in that you can leave the brake switch on when accelerating and shifting gears, and not have it kick on.

At least that's how my Jake is set up, and how a truck I drove with a pac was set up...

PacBrake by far the best investment I made to my truck. 88K on the original brake pads, rotors, etc.. There is a 2 second or so delay after I take my foot off the throttle before the brake kicks in. I have the ATS Triple Lok Commander (now called the Co-pilot) so I can select when the TC locks and unlocks. Right now the brake will slow the truck down to about 23 miles an hour, than the TC unlocks and the brake turns off. Can't go wrong with the PacBrake and Harold (from PacBrake) on here is super helpful if you have any questions.

I didn't wire mine into the CPU, instead I use the gear shift mounted switch for long downhill runs and for around town I have a tee handle gear shift **** with a button in the end, I have the acc. pedal and cruise control lock out relay. works awesome.
