Simply look on the valve cover data tag. If it says 325 HP it is, 235 HP it isn't.
Here is a link to a site with spec's.

this is strange

i looked that site up....mine says its 305 horsepower.

Does anyone know where the vin is at on these engines?

I bought this truck used. The door vin shows its a 2004 manufactured in 8/03

The valve cover shows its 4 of 03 with a horsepower of 305.....Did someone switch my valve cover or change the engine? Vin number location?

you have the HO 03 model bascilly the 04 model. It changed on Jan 04 to the 325 hp model know as the 04.5. The differences is the injectors the exhasut is 3.5", you have no CAT, and a manual wastegate turbo. Nothing wrong with the motor you got a little less on the electronics and no emission system.

The standard output (by #'s) will gain more power with mods, because they start off with a lower amount.
