Help with PRNDL plug on 03 tranny swap.

I have an 03 3500 4x4 ram diesel, I blew the transmission and dropped a tranny from an 02 in it. Everything lines up fine, and runs great except the PRNDL plug that plugs into the tranny is different on the 02 than the 03. So I had to attach some wires in order to trick my truck to think it was in park so that I could start it. Now the check engine light is coming on and throwing code P1899, and cruise control doesn’t work. Is there any way to override this so its not throwing a code? Or will I have to live with the check engine light on until I blow this tranny? Thanks for any help.

can you get the plug wiring off of truck, tranny was removed from? see if you can match wires, maybe different location in plug. someone may post both wiring schematics to trace wires. anybody????

Get a plug from an 02, the pins(1 thru 7) are numbered on the face of the plug, the wires are different colors, but if you match pin numbers it should be good.

I don't think the old neutral safety swithc will cross to the newer range control unit. IIRC there are a lot more functions in there than used to be.

You will have to bore the case out to accept the 03 range sensor if you want things to work correctly.
