Exclamation HELP! My 05 started to "LUB" tonight.

My 05 started to "LUB" tonight (for a lack of better description). I came home after pulling my 10K trailer (no issues or power loss) and parked my truck. While letting it cool down at idle, as I normally do, I noticed it started to "LUB". It felt as if someone was lightly pressing the accelerator and then releasing it. My fuel level is low but not to where the fuel light is on ( i never let it get that low ). The truck is stock except for a new 5" turbo back. I have just replaced the water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt, hoses, upper and lower balljoints, inner and outer tie rod ends, hubs, all u-joints and batteries. I change the oil every 5 and fuel filter every 10k miles. A friend of mine has a 2001 Dodge and his fuel pump and lift pump? just went out at a cost of 2100 dollars. Does the 05 have the same fuel delivery system (i.e. pump and lift pump )? Any help would be appreciated .
Joe

05's have a lift pump in the tank, also you have a CP3 injector pump not a VP pump. Could of been sucking some air from the empty tank or maybe getting some crap from the bottem of the tank like moisture.

Falcon1,
Thank you for the info. The next day I went and filled-up the truck and changed the fuel filter. Since then no problems. I remembered my last fill up was at small town gas station, so they may not have had the best quality diesel in their tanks.
