I have 2004 2500 Ram stock diesel, I keep getting a check engine lite for no cam signal. I've tried new sensors, new ECM and also hardwired sensor to ECM thinking maybe a wire was bad. I also changed crankshaft sensor. I removed timing cover thinking excessive cam gear end play or improper timing to crankshaft. both were in spec's. This truck has a salvage title so no warranty. It was in front end crash and had the crankshaft removed and machined. Any suggestions what might be the cause? open to tried anything at this point.
Check the wiring on the passenger side near the a/c compressor. There is a post on here somewhere about it rubbing thru and causing an issue with the 5V reference signal to the cam sensor. It has fixed more than one truck!
Yeap, I put money on it being the wiring going to the High/Low pressure switch on the A/C. Not hard to find at all.
Here is the thread, it even has pictures for ya..

Thanks everyone for your help, I'll check the wiring by A/C compressor on Monday. I will be happy camper if that fixes problem. Was in shop for week already.
