Grid Heater Problems

Up until a few days ago my grid heater/wait to start light would stay on for 3 to 5 seconds and then would go out.

The past week or so, the light has not been staying on for the normal 3 to 5 seconds.

Yesterday, 28F outside, truck sitting for 8 hours. I get in to go home from work and the grid heater light just came on for a second like all the other lights and then shut off. I started the truck, took a little longer than normal, and was letting it idle for about 5 minutes in Hi-Idle before I left for home.

The grid heater light never came on or anything, but the lights would get brighter and the engine surge like the grid heater was cycling.

But shouldn't the lights dim, not brighten?

Also once or twice the brake light(above the grid heater light) flickered and I got a ding.

What could the problem be? To me it sounds like the heater may be shorting out.

Thanks for any help...

Just looked at the codes, and the only thing that i saw was "battery temp sensor something"... I cleared it and it is still gone...

I did the key cycle 3 times and got P0595

I did the key on with reset button held and got:
A7 50
AA 51
68 01

Does anyone know what those mean?

Any help would be appreciated???

You can do a C code search on here for dash diagnostics, the codes you have come up as A7 Vin check sum error,AA PCM message not recieved,68 driver door unlock output circuit shorted to ground or voltage I dont know what the #'s are after they only come up as A7,AA,68 good luck sounds like a short somewhere
