grid heater?

sorry guy's, new to this Cummins Turbo diesel.

my 97' F350 has glow plugs to help light off the 7.3L PSD when it was cold outside. i've heard talk about the "grid heaters" and even tried doing a search on the location.
where is it located? thanks for the education

There is an intake manifold thats a cast part of the head on the driver side of engine , above that is the air horn , between those 2 is about a 1" piece , with 2 large wires going to 2 studs , thats where the heater grid is , those 2 wires go to solenoids that put current to them and they are controlled by relays , that are controlled by temp sensor .

the grid heater in your 06 is not needed like the ford, order a cfm+ and a grid heater delete from fbd or winspeed or glacer and you will like it

i recently looked at the opposite side on the stk intake and found the wires that attach to the htr, thanks John.
then the other day i ordered the Power-Flo intake from DTR store. it should be here soon.

hmmm? htr not needed? maybe this winter i'll disconnect the leads and test if it would be needed. i'd hate to kill my batteries trying to start the trk.
i know on my 7.3L PSD, if there was an issue with the GP's or GPR, it would let you know on the first cold snap

thanks guy's
