Greasing front drive shaft
Where is the eye hole for greasing the front driveshaft. Do i need an adapter for the grease gun?

I have an 05 Quad Dually 4x4 6 spd and I don't have a grease point on my front driveshaft-total bummer. Guess that it will cost me $$$ later.

Yes you need a needle fitting. Dan MAYOH look again real hard with a bright light. It took me 10 minuts to find mine the 2nd time I greased it. Sometimes they just hide!

Front Zerk
Check my pictures, i have one where it's located. not the best picture but it'll help. Mine was painted over and had to scrap the paint off to even see the thing. You'll find it. When I do my u joints I'm going to use the Spicer triple seal no greasable. Greasable ones are a tad weaker than non greasable.

Your truck may not have a grease fitting. My 04.5 does not! I pulled the shaft out and disassembled the thing to grease the joints. It was a real PITA but definatly worth doing. The factory grease was broken down pretty good at 20K miles. The funny thing was the grease looked like a rainbow having atleast 5 different colors.

We do have grease points. It was a topic in the new TDR mag that i dont get this was the reason for me posting it here, i thought someone must have the new mag

If you have a grease fitting then you will need the needle adapter for your gun. I had to tear mine down to grease it. Trust me there was no fitting on mine. I spent plenty of time starring at a torn apart shaft double checking this. There is a weep hole in the center of the shaft but NO needle fittings.

I have an '05 as well...Get under the truck with a trouble light, driver side, and with the left fronr wheel raised so you can freely rotate it. On mine, there's a paint splotch on the u-joint (transmission side, above the skid plate) that when facing down, gives access to the grease point. Rotate the tire to turn the drive shaft. You do need a needle - don't put too much in there and blow the seal. I use a small one handed grease gun and 1-2 squirts every oil change at 5-6000 mi.

Thank you!
