gotta race an 04 Hemi 4X4-need help
Contrary to a lot of thinking, successful drag racing takes skill (especially at launch). The difference between a bog and loads of white smoke and burnt rubber can be very close. So even though a guy may have a car that only a Don Prudhome kind of driver can drive well, a joe-schmoe may fail miserabley. A good driver in slow car can often take a rock driving a race car.
Get that chip, and work on reducing your 60' times.
Yes, an auto does make it easer, but not foolproof. Play with tire pressures and keep the truck as light as possible.
ps. don't forget to post the timeslip when the deed is done!

I agree with Vaughn that your goal is not that tough to attain. Racing has a lot a variables to deal with and a box, good launch with great reaction time, the Hemi is not all that and the win is not out of the question. That is racing on any given day. I feel 16 When I here my turbo sing. It must be cold in CA..

Shovelhead - is the Edge sold through distributors or direct? If you think about it your 16.2 time is sick for a dually. I would love to put a new CTD in a Dakota or a Durango!
Not sure if this applies, but I ran a hemi on the beltway in Houston the other day and was pretty surprised. People like to race from tollbooth to tollbooth here. He was next to me trying to showoff (revving his engine) , because we were stuck behind some slow cars. He had modified exhaust (sounded great), but that's all I know. We were going 60 behind traffic when it finally opened up, and he jumped in the next lane and we punched it. I was stock (I have an AFE PG7 now) at the time and running 35's. When we finally got to the toll I looked down at the speedo and we were almost at 100 and he never gained an inch on me. He had to back down and get in behind me. This was surprising to me because I expected him to smoke me at those speeds and with my tires (mud terrain). H.O. 48RE. Just got the PG7 and EZ is on the way.
Snow! Screw that. I spent yrs 25 in L.I.N.Y. and the little snow we got was too much. I am in SE NC lust N of SC and it is 60+ today which is about as cold as I like it. Anyway I am an impulsive SOB and am seriously going to order an edge unit very soon. Shoudl I wait till the truck is broken in? I don't plan on towing more than a few times per year so EGT's sould not be a problem and next on the list is guages.
Hey PPSI before dropping those hard earned bucks, definately wait at least 6 to 10 k for breakin of driveline components. Your engine will not be broke in until at least 50k mi. so I have been told. Check out TST's box a little more money but more power and can also be stacked with an edge. Just my 2 cents...
Agree w/ Vaughn. I am pretty sure a PMAX CR would be able to take care of a Hemi pretty easily, auto vs 6-speed not affecting the outcome. W/ PMAX CR, you should be in the low 15s with EASE.

My Edge box was purchased from www.wildcatdiesel.com.
If you think a 16 sec Dually is sick, there's a few 12 second duallys around.

When I ran in Spokane I revved to about 1400rpm and dropped the clutch in 1st but didn't use much throttle. I instantly went to 2nd then to 3rd and was mashing it by then. Seemed to work pretty well and I kept from spinning them too much. The LSD helps I'm sure. This 6-speed is easier to row reasonably quick unlike the one in my '01. I had fun and want to do it again sometime (was my first time).
