Got my truck put back together

well I got my transmission back in the truck after she let go on my about a month ago. wasnt a bad install, everything went smooth and the truck is running good. took about 3 hours to get her going which i dont think is to bad for the first time and laying in the driveway!

how long do you think a good break-in period is? right now I am just being easy on it.....I have to make a run this weekend of a couple hundred miles (empty) I dont plan on making a time trial out of it THIS TIME!!! hahaha

I would run around town for ~50 miles. If there are no issues, go on your trip, but don't use cruise control & vary your speed. After that, let 'er rip!

Maybe change fluid after 5k miles.

When Goerend rebuilt my tranny, we backed it out of the garage, warmed it up and then put the hammer down. We probably did 4-6 3/4 - full throttle runs on each of the 3 shift enhanser settings, with several smooth run-ups in between. I drove it like I normally would otherwise.

You didn't mention what was done to your tranny. I could see taking it easy for a little while, but I don't think you need to worry about it much otherwise.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Let it roll. A dozen or so lockup shifts and you are on your own.

If you had a shop rebuild it then they are who you should be asking. If not then just drive it and be adult on the moron peddle.

This is a tranny and not the engine,I aint never heard of a brake in period. it aint like you have rings to seat. drive it like you are gonna use it. The last tranny i had installed the tech went outside off the rack and did burn -outs in the parking lot.
