General Ameritracs
New 06 came with the General Ameritracs. I had the Ameritracs on my 03 and replaced them once with identical tires. Got good milelage from them and was overhall pleased with them
I am not sure if the tires on my 06 have the same tread design but for some reason this truck "spins" like crazy when on a little wet grass or like surface.
comments ?

The longer they last the more they slip , long lasting is harder tire , harder tie slips , softer tire grips better but does not last .
I've heard from other shop owners [ they do tires , I do not ] that if you go to the branded shop that the compound is different than going to wally world / sams club .
It happened to me a few yrs ago , I went to sams club and bought the same tires that I had just warn out [ michelins ] the sams club ware out a lot faster .
I was told that if you knew how to read the codes then you would know what you're getting , but that was longenough that I forgot .
Now days longenough is getting shorter .

I have ran Michlon MX in the past and they got GREAT milelage but they were a lot better than these Ameritracs off road.
Suppose a lot of it depends on the tread style. Wish i could compare the tread on these to the tread that was on my 03.

I have them too and plan on airing them down for the winter. They just don't look like they are gonna give me good traction in the snow and ice. I just don't feel like shelling out $1200.00 for tires yet since these only have 3500 miles on them. I'm also probably going to throw 1000lb in the bed for the winter too. That will help....

I have had these on my truck since new, but they are not wearing well. Granted, I run 60-70 lbs in these, but with almost 30,000 miles on them, I don't thing they are going to pass PA state inspection here next month.
I haven't been impressed with the quality of them - white sidewall lettering wore off within a year, and tires had tiny lines (cracks) but have been durable enough for my purposes.
Never had a problem in snow, and we have PLENTY of steep hills here in suburban Philadelphia. Put it in 4x4, and I've never been stuck yet.
Still trying to decide what tires to get, but I think I'm going to go with Toyo ATs if I can find them.

i had close to 70,000 miles on my 03 tires when i sold it and they had more than 1/2 the tread left and no visable signs of wear. Mostly all interstate miles towing ,heavy. was religous about rotating every 5-7 thousand miles
