fuel filter write up

fuel filter write up

does anyone have a write up on installing the fuel filter, is it something easy like an oil change? thanks

Real easy... Put a pan under the filter drain hose. Open the fuel drain (yellow valve on filter housing) allow the pressure to bleed off. Use an adjustable wrench to remove the top of the housing. Pull out the old filter and replace it with the new filter. Replace the o-ring on the cap and snug it back on. Becareful not to over tighten since the plastic caps have been known to crack. Very Important... Close the yellow fuel drain valve. Turn the key on just before starting three to four times to allow the fuel pump to fill the filter housing and purge the air. Might cough a couple times but should smooth out quickley. I am sure if I missed anything smeone will respond, but these are the steps I use each time I cahnge out the filter. BTW, I change the fuel filter at each oil change, cheep insurance.
