Fuel Filter change intervals?
Yep, the satisfaction of having an excuse to maintain the beast is great.
Then explain to the little missus that we are saving $$$$$.
Always manage to slip in an odd item when placing the order from Geno's.
10,000 on the f'filter, 7,500 on oil and filter.
I know that if I "contaminate" any thing while working on my truck, I will take care of it, sceptical of most of the parts changers at the local dealer.
Maintain it - Enjoy it!!

A filter should be changed based on how many gallons it filtered. I know that the Dodge/Cummins recommendations call out for 15,000 mile change intervals. Someone towing 15,000 lbs. in town will go thru 3 -4 times as much fuel as someone running empty on the highway. For instance - International on their site recommended 188 gallon intervals for the T444 (i.e. 7.3 PowerStroke) engines.
I change my oil and fuel filters at the same time, 7500 miles. While the fuel filter change is premature, I think it is alot cheaper to change the fuel filter more often than to experience a dirty fuel system. Couple that with the TSB that recommends changing oil and fuel filters more often because of the tank cleansing effects of ULSD, DC doesn't have anything to say to me about warranty!
