Fuel delivery issue

I just bought a 2006 3500 hd with a 6 speed, it has a couple issues but i've not worked on anything this new. The symptoms are! seriously don't laugh When starting the truck it cranks 2 to 3 seconds which is longer than i think it should be, after it starts there is NO smoke or engine miss it runs good. Now when driving in town or under normal conditions it does OK but when you hit the Interstate it acts sluggish and weak and will throw a fuel delivery code PO148 and you can hear a slight fuel knock but it still does'nt smoke. Now the wait to start light is coming on while driving and staying on, I figure that is just a sensor or wiring. What I have done so far is service the truck and replaced the filters, checked my lift pump. When cranking it was getting about 12 to 15, when slow idle it was about 8 to 10 and at full trotlle it dropped off to about 2 to 5 all lift pump pressure. Can I get some advise not sure where to start on this 3rd gen engine. Did I mention it gets terrible fuel mileage, 10 to 12 mpg.

You might want to recheck that code, no such code that I can find in ECM module.

That narrows it down to this.

Possible Causes
OTHERS DTC'S PRESENT
FUEL LEAKS
FUEL CONTROL ACTUATOR
FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR
CASCADE OVERFLOW VALVE
CHECK VALVE DAMAGED OR BLOCKED
FUEL RETURN LINES OBSTRUCTION, DAMAGE, OR DEBRIS
LIFT PUMP FLOW
AIR IN FUEL SYSTEM
LEAKING FUEL INJECTORS OR HIGH PRESSURE CONNECTORS
PRESSURE LIMITING VALVE
HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP
INTERMITTENT CONDITION

Check fuel for any contamination, fuel filter. DO you have long crank time? engine running rough? lack of power? engine rpm fluctuating or hammering engine noise? Black smoke? fuel leaks?

The engine is not running rough, It is lacking power, and there are no fuel leaks

If you can monitor your fuel rail pressure when running that can help diag. Does fuel pressure fluctuate more then 500+or- at idle?
