Front leveling kit for 3rd gen?

Who makes the best spacers for the price?
2" level up front, will I need to add shocks?

I think the are all about the same. Stock shocks will work with the leveling kit. But beware of the imfamous Death Wobble. I had it severely on my truck. Had to get rid of the 315's and the leveling kit. Some have had no problems, others have.

Unknown....Do a search for the Death Wobble and you will find a bunch of threads on it. Not fun when it happens, feels like the tires are going to come off. I would say more folks don't have a problem with it than those of us that did, but I thought I would give you a heads up. Good luck

Justin:

A buddy of mine just went with the Skyjacker 2.5" lift on his 04. It leveled things out nicely. 4 Wheel Parts did the install, which included a front end alignment. He's running 33x12.5's and all is well. He went with new shocks that were longer than the OEM.

On my 99, I had the SJ 4.5" lift and ran 35x12.5's. 4 Wheel Parts did all the work and an alignment, and it ran great as well.

I am not personally a fan of spacers, but plenty of people run them. I think the key is getting a good install done and then an alignment. I am pretty sure you can run the OEM shocks with just a small amount of lift up front, but is it really worth it when you "may" run the risk of the dreaded DW? Especially when it would only run around $100 for new ones......

I also personally consider a professional alignment a mandatory part of any front end suspension work.

Matt

ive got the revtek 2" spacers and running 325/60/18's and dont have any wobble or any problems, nor have i ever heard of any problems with anyone that has the revtek spacers. i have heard of the studs breaking off of some of the cheap poly spacers, but not with the good metal ones.

If the intent is to level the truck, why not just lower the rear by swapping around the spring spacers? I did mine for NO cost at all. Drops the rear 1 1/2 inches.

I had my leveling kit installed by the dealer before I even picked up my truck. I also have 315s in the truck with aftermarket rims. No death wobble here..

Just did mine this weekend. Tommy Gunz on Ebay i think that is the name of the leveling kit I bought. Steel spacers worked great. going to put 315's on when I get a chance no death wobble here Besides I ordered 2 kits and they cost me around 85 each

I installed the Rancho kit on mine... little bit more then just the spacers, but it also comes with extra pieces to correct all the angles. If it's a long term fix, I recommend it. If it's jsut a temporary one till you actually raise it, then any will work. I also have a set of 9000Xs all the way around and with my 33.5" tires, I have no problems.

Can anyone tell me what the best way to level out my '04.5 2WD Long Bed 2500 would be???

I have seen all kinds of kits etc for 4x4's, but little to no info on spacers/shocks for 4x2's. Any recomendations would really be appreciated!

There is an unwritten rule in the by-laws of diesel truck ownership never to lower your vehicle by any means.

LEVELING KIT

Wanted to give a heads-up before you buy Revtek. I had them on my truck a couple of months. One day I started hearing a Rattle in the front end, turns out the studs that came with the Revtek spacers for the shock towers were breaking! Had two left on drivers side and just one stud holding the shock tower on the right side! . Changed them out the next day to Superlift 2.5" springs. The ride was noticeably improved with these springs. Also you can still use stock shocks.
