Front end problems vs build location

I though it would be interesting to see if St. Louis or Mexico trucks had more front end problems. Might be interesting

This is lookin' good so far. My truck is a mexico truck even though it has shown up yet. It is hard to get a feel for the #'s without doing a pole, and this front end stuff had me kind of spooked. I like the #'s I am seeing though.

This is a flawed survey.

Mexico makes a bunch more Heavy Duty vs. the St.Louis plant which just recently started back with Heavy Duty production. So just by sheer numbers Mexico will have more problems even if the percentage is the same.

Sort of like the FASS vs Air Dog thing, you have ALOT of FASS pumps out there and a handful of Air Dog's and everyone thinks the Air Dog is perfect because there is no problems reported but when there is probably only a couple hundred if that out there.
Where as FASS has thousands sold.

See what I am getting at?

I can totally see what you mean. I really wasn't trying to make any specific point, just looking at collecting some data. I know my truck was made in Mexico (should be picking it up today) and I can see that, from the poll results so far, the majority of people responding have had good luck. i can also look at profiles of people who have had problems (USA or mexico) and see if there are any similarities between their setups. I am hoping to get a feel for what percentage of these 3rd gen trucks specifically with 315's have problems with the front end. But I find if you ask a direct question you get a lot of opinions without being allowed to make your own conclusions. This really just lets me make my own conclusions. i hope you participated, it really does help me and maybe others in the future.

Thanks,

Alan

Currently only 12% of Mexico 3rd gen's (in the poll) have front end problems.

But I can't wait to see if that changes?

Whats also funny about this is that most trucks WILL have front end problems.
Its not a matter of if, but when.
Alot of times people just don't notice until its too late.

All use the same parts.

Hey PourinDiesel,
I am having trouble understanding why you have such a hard time with my pole? I can see from the list that you haven't participated in voting, but you seem to be very interested in explaining everything that is wrong with it. Now I can understand your criticism but there really is NO need for it. Like I said before, I am not out to prove anything, or change how people see their dodges. I just thought it would be a good source of info rather then posting:
"who has had front end problems?" Because on a site filled with opinions (including yours) that is what you get. Now I admit, the conclusions drawn from looking at my pole are probably not valid, BUT they are my own and also whoever else decides to read into the data, which for the most part I gather is truth full if not genuinely useful. As far as I am concerned this pole has been doing exactly what I wanted it to when I posted it. So please if you think it is flawed or wrong, and you don't want to be part of it, just ignore it. This post isn't hurting anyone.

I am sorry you are taking it that way.

But in general the Dodge front end steering/tie rods/ball joints are junk.

It doesnt have anything to do with what factory made it. Its the penny pinchers from Chrysler that implement these substandard parts.

Don't take it the wrong way. I dont have a problem with your posts.
But I do have a problem with a weak front end.

I went ahead and voted!

Right on PourinDiesel,

I think I have had too many bad experiences on forums before (not this one specifically). I know that you have experience and made many posts, and I didn't want to bash you or anything. Thanks for voting! The more votes the more I understand if I should stock up on ball joints and track bars. You see my 06 isn't here yet, but I already ordered my 315's HAHAHAH.

Cheers

Question? Regarding polls like this............it seems in some of the polls I can see who voted which way, and in others I can't. Like this one, it says that I voted but it doesn't show me which way I voted or anybody else, at least not to me.

What makes the difference? Not really a big deal either way, just curious.

Mine has a form of it. It in't deathwobble side to side mine is up and down, making me relate my problems to shocks and tires. It happened the same way on my 01 hit a big bump and the tire keeps rebounding off of the ground until you get slowed way down. Tire pressure is a very small factor in that the higher the pressure the higher the ground speed it takes to make it occur, however it doesn't lessen the severity of it. I think I will try new shocks this summer to see if that helps.

Tuco: The build plant is listed on your window sticker, and can be figured out by the VIN# although I don't know the VIN# code.

TEXASCTD: I think that when you look at the poll results in this one, it places your "handle" next to the choice you voted for. for instance pourindiesel shows up to the right of mexico and has had front end problems.

Slimpicken: I didn't even know that could happen. Do other people have that problem? Are your tires balanced?

Goose2: I don't think there is a way to allow two votes. Sorry. If anyone knows a way I would like to be able to do it?

I am glad this thread is being viewed. I hope I answered your questions.
