Firestone Level-Rite Air shocks

I see that Firestone has a leveling air shock for the Dodge Ram HD. Has anyone tried these? If so what do you think, are they better then the conventional leveling kits?

AIR BAG OR SHOCKS ? Only air shocks I ever used broke the shock mounts out of the frame when I hit a big hole.

Air shocks have been around forever. Back in the 70's we used them to jack up the rear of a "hot rod". But, bad things happened, exactly as Hylander said. The shock mounts are not meant to support that much weight. It wasn't uncommon for the mounts to break. I wouldn't use air shocks on to anything to raise the ride height. You can use them to stiffen the ride a bit for better handeling. But not for raising ride height, or increasing pay load.

I thank what you are talking about is the fire stone air bags that helps with heavy loads. They do a good job with heavy loads

Firestone has them on their website now, a new item for 2009. Myself and Sallyman1 were just wondering if anyone has used them on their 3rd Generation Dodge and how they compare to the normal leveling kits.

The rubber jounce is bolted on. It is the easiest part of air bag installation.
