I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the stock exhaust pipes are made of on an 07. Years ago they made a big deal out of putting in stainless steel pipes but now there doesn't seem to be any mention sooo...that means either they still do, but so does everyone so it's not a big deal, or like alot of things they've cheaped out and gone to somthing less expensive?

 

I imagine the 07's are the same as the 06's, some kinda industrial stainless, notthe pretty shiny stuff the aftermarket boys carry...

 

Aluminized coated steel. My stainless tip welded to it with no problem.

 

Really, I thought they were stainless? Learn something new about Dodges cheapness everyday.

 

I think you'll find that aluminized steel is pretty much the standard for all the manufactures across the board. The metal performs well except in areas where the climate is salty or snowy.

 

actually, it's a low grade stainless... like most OEM's use

 

The new truck came with 400 series stainless from the turbo to the muffler... from the muffler back it was aluminized steel.
