Excessive blow by ??
I have my 03 5.9 Cummins sittin on a stand. oil pan is off. I grab the clutch and turn the engine over, and can hear more air comin from the crankcase than anywhere else. Is this very bad ?? Also. I would have thought that it would be alot harder to turn over. I can definately feel the strokes, and i have to give it a little umph, but not as hard as I think it should be. I'm pullin the head today to see what's up. I startd to yesterday, but did not realize how much crap has to come off just to pull the head.

What were you looking for when dropped pan?
The "keystone" rings do not have sealing tension at hand turning RPM.
Generally not difficult to turn through on engine that has bled down as in setting for several days.
You have on stand so something caused you to pull?
