Ex Ford Powerstroke

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, am new to site and just bought a 2007 Ram 2500 Bighorn Edition. My last truck was a 2003 F250 Lariat Powerstroke. Just thought I'd try a different diesel. 3400 miles so far and I love the Dodge except I have had my check engine light come on twice this week. The first time the dealership near me (not where I bought it) said the code was intake air heater and said they replaced the heater grid and reset codes. All in 1/2 Hr. Right. 2 Days later its back on. I checked the codes and it is the intake heater code again. Anyone else had this on a brand new truck? Thanks, Grant.

I may way off on this, but wasn't therer a TSB related to this. Something to do with the battery sensor. I believe there are three consition that are met to determine when to turn on the heater. One of them is the battery sensor.
Someone should chime in with a better answer. Good luck.

Post the code...

To read the codes...
Start with the key in the off position
Key-on
Key-off
Key-on
Key-off
Key-on
Codes will display on the odometer

I think you're correct. IIRC, it was somethting like battery temp rationality and one or two other codes. A flash exists to correct that problem.

Yes, post the exact codes that are being thrown. We can help you pinpoint the real problem. It's probably very minor.
