Ther QUICK LUBE thing and SATURDAY SERVICE(What a joke)is only being practiced because it helps the SALES DEPT.to sell a car or truck. Its is a MONEY loser in a dealership or just about any garage for that matter.Had a General Manager once who got fed up with $19.95 Olfs(we lost a buck or two as well as lost productivity). We did about 450 a month. He said figure a price that will make us a buck or two.(5 qt.system)We came up with like $26.00.We still did 450 a month.

Well once I changed the filter it ran 90% better and hesitated once and a while.
The dealer ran a fuel pressure test and said it was fine and they reflashed the computer and it seems to be fine now but it seems like the truck doesn't have the get up and go like it did with the other program in the computer.

It still starts like an airplane in the mornings and coughs out white smoke then is cool.

Whats up with the factory fuel filter coming out red? My first thought was the dealer put off road fuel in it. I know I didn’t use off road in it myself. The one i put in was white

If you hear air whisteling check all the boot on the air tubes from the turbo to intercooler and back to intake manifold. They like to blow off . boots creap out from under clamps. If they push out just a little you get a whistle especially under power. If you loose to much boost the computer cut back fuel feed, trying to compensate , that makes power loss . If it dont compensate good enough you get miss and smoke. Look all the way around all clamps. hard to spot somtimes.

I'll do that....The air leak actually is on the fuel filter side somewhere.
I have never heard another cummins start like mine before either....It literally sounds like a P-51 mustang when it starts! It pops and jerks and smokes for about 30 seconds then once it clears its lungs its fine! Weird huh?

I am very frustrated at the truck...it ran fine the first week i had it then now it is running like crap!
