engine light on

I have a 03 with 3k miles on it and the light on the dash that looks like a engine is coming on, any ideas? All the gauges are reading correctly.

Does the light stay on, or does it just quickly flash on and off? If it just flashes, chances are you have the computer glitch like the rest of us. There is a TSB to reflash the computer with upgraded software to correct this. Personally, I haven't had it done because it doesn't bother me enough. Here is a link to the TSB:

It stayed on all the time. This happened about a month ago when my wife was driving but it went off the next time we drove it. This morning it stay on all the way to work, 12 miles.

I would definitely get that checked out. If you don't want to take it to a dealer, Autozone can usually pull the codes for free. Even if the light isn't on right now, the computer will store the previous trouble code. Hopefully it isn't anything serious.
