Engine clunk at shutdown?

Hey guys. I have a question on my 04. I know diesels generally clunk/shudder at shutdown, my last two have. However my cummins not only clunks, but kinda squeaks. Does anyone else's squeak/chirp at all during shutdown? I figure this may have been covered but the search feature on this site stinks so badly I got frustrated and decided to post instead

Yup the serpentine belt will squeak a bit at shutdown. Mine stopped after I added the vac pump for the ebrake. Longer belt or different material. They do kinda shake when you shut them down. They like to run I guess..... What'd they say at the TDR?

Hey, quit knit pickin that poor thing and just go drive it - - enjoy all those little neat sounds. People pay a lot of money to hear a chirp, plus have to clean up the bottom of the cage and seeds all over the floor. You just get to drive the best driving truck on the road and still have a chirp. Enjoy. 8)

The owners manual tells you all about the chirp at shutdown. I am sure we all have read our owners manuals, right?

My five speed manual must be short a that a page.

Or, maybe I missed something while crabbing in Bandon, OR.

Just be sure you've got the doors closed or they'll shake, rattle and roll right off the truck.
