Engine Brake

I am considering installing a US Gear D-Celerator on my 2005, 5.9 Cummins. Any thoughts, warnings or recommends?

honestly never heard of them, you may want to take a look at PacBrake and talk to Larry. He can probably get it for you through the DTR store for a good price.

The thngs I've never heard of would fill volumes. But I am going to go with a U.S. Gear inline brake on the '07 at some point. You will hear all sorts of warnings about this that or the other thing from the cheerleaders on this site, with nothing but marketing hype behind it. At the end of the day there's no great difference between any of them, inline, direct-mount, whatever. I'm going to do the inline brake style this time around just because I can.

If you really want an inline exhaust brake you should look at the Pacbrake inline PRXB, they offer inline brakes in 4" and 5" I believe, not just the turbo mount. The PRXB is the only one I know of that holds the maximum backpressure of 60 PSI down to 1500 RPM. Fixed orifice exhaust brakes produce only 1/2 of the maximum exhaust backpressure allowable at 1500 RPM. With the Pacbrake you also get an air compressor, tank and accessory hose kit. I ran my air bags and air horn off their air tank.
It is the best option I added to my truck, couldn't drive without it.

Looks like the US gear super duty model does not use a fixed orifice either. Off hand I don't know anyone using one.
