EGT temps while towing
I had the VA off the entire trip and it still did it. It's a vicous cycle: The EGT's hit 1100, the truck slows down a little bit, and then the boost drops, which results in EGT hitting 1100 again...That's when I have to press the throttle. Luckily this only happens going up steep hills (CA has some really steep grades!)
So could one infer,,, installing an aftermarket fuel pump and an adjustable boost elbow will drop my EGT's when towing the Race car hauler,,,, who's a fat/long/tall pig weighing in at 14.8K+??????? on good hills I commonly spike to 1400+ until I Down shift to the 5 hole and spin the moto/boost up a bit..

i tow a 10,000 lb 34 foot tt. i see 900-1000F on level ground. i see 1200 ish going up hills. my water temp runs between 190-215 F and my tranny runs between 160-215 F.... i have a goerend tiple disc converter.

Adjustable boost elbows can work on the 04.5+, but are trickier as the WG is electronic. Honestly get a Smarty Jr and set it on SW1.
Yes the fueling is stock, turbo stock, bought the 2 micron universal mount GDP canister,,, want to install between Factory filter and CP3,,,,,,have been running Wix,,, in FFC,,, just switched to Baldwin drop ins,,,,
I think you are right,,,, The Smarty Jr Revo May just be the ticket,,,
I can leave the MP3 turned up when towing the 15K Toyhauler but it eats the fuel!!!!!!!!! LOLOL,,, have to sneak up on the RPM /speed to keep mileage/EGT's in check LOLOL!!!! easier just to turn it down and lay the wood to it!!!!!!
Funny before I got the guage pack,,,, I never knew I was in the EGT danger zone!!!!!
I have got as good as 11-12 MPG on flat ground @ 1900RPM 58-60 MPH
are you running the amsoil ATF in your tranny????????

Good call on ditching the WIX, it doesn't meet OE spec.
You would be very happy with the SJR.
Did you pull the the hard line from the FFC to the CP3 to install the GDP 2micron filter???? is your fueling stock or are you running an aftermarket pump???
Back to my original post, the boost elbow showed up today so we installed it and it dropped the EGT a good 200 degF during normal driving and allowed the boost to go over 30 PSI easy. Will have to see what it does under a heavy load next time we have it out. Thx for the advice.
