Can anybody tell me what an EGR engine is. Heard someone say they are due out for 04 production. I'm new to diesels.<br> Thanks

 

Exhaust Gas Recirculation. Spent exhaust is introduced to the intake maifold to mix with the incoming air. This inert gas helps to &quot;cool&quot; the combustion chamber resulting, in theory,in a reduction of NOx, a smog causing pollution. Dunno when this engine is scheduled to get it.<br>Paul

 

I think federal mandate is for the 04 model year.<br><br>I thought a byproduct of Catalytic converters is NOx. WE clean the air and laugh about it ;D :P &gt;
