Am I reading this correctly? Is the EMS kit now $1000? I know the other two are double that. I spoke with them at EMS before they were released. Seemed very nice. Some of the parts are made off-shore. I think the hubs were being made in Australia. At that price it gets very temting to do it. The other two must be wondering.............

EMS doesn't appear to have a distributor network nor are they open on saturdays. By way of comparison their website is basic, and their product looks disassembled and somewhat rough. Good for them, stick it to the man and keep it real, keep it affordable.

True, I guess I skipped over to the wrong forum

But I'm going to say that though I'll never convert from a 12V, I have learned alot from you 3rd Gener's regarding the hub conversions.

I know this is an old one but can you run the short dynatrac hub on the ems kit or does ems offer a shorty hub?

yet another player in this market.
Ballistic Fab is selling kits now.
list price is 1017.99 but before you get too excited that only gets you the hubs & spindles.
You still need D60 stub axles & locking hubs which they sell for 449.99
Wheel berings 139.99
wheel studs 32.99
spindle nuts 49.99
Total: 1690.95
But you have options with this kit cuz maybe you can sorce the D60 parts cheaper, I'm going to look into it.

Is there any junk yard conversion from older trucks that can do this for cheap?
Just a thought.

Front versus rear wheel track width

Do all of the free spin brands maintain the same front track width as before the swap?

I remember looking at a web site, which I can't remember, that showed one of the brands making the front track width noticeably wider after the swap.

Hubcaps

Just got my Dynatrac kit on, love it! Needed the bearings, ball joints and u-joints, and the new steering kit as well. Good time to upgrade. Got the Dynatrac kit for $1899, with free shipping from 8lugtruckgear. They had been doing a group buy on one of the forums, and matched that price.

Looking for a good way to do the hubcaps without taking them to a machine shop, for the stockers. Has anyone used a hole saw? I did on an Explorer years ago, but quite a bit smaller hole, worked perfectly. . . I think it will work if done REAL carefully. (-;

Has anyone checked to see if the Ford Superduty caps would fit?

I did my hubcaps with a hole saw On the back side there is a mould tip and if you break it of and drill in the centre of it you will that is your centering point
Because of the taper I used a slightly undersize hole say and finished off with a Drumsanding roll in the drill press and many many many trial fits.
It worked for me.
