Dumb question??

I'm needing to replace the lines going to the accumulater/drier, whats the proper way of removing them.

There is a tool made for separating the ac lines. It's a wrap around plastic sleeve that slips under a spring to release the grip it has on the outside of the inserted line. A set can be had at just about any auto parts store for about $9.99. After using one, I think one could cut a strip out of a plastic milk carton and slide it into the fitting and do the same thing. Don't force it or you will damage the connector. Once you get one apart you will be able to see the inside and can see how simple it works.
