Do it yourself Transmission flush procedure?

I was wondering the best procedure in flushing the transmission yourself. From what Im gathering you want first drop pan replace filter put 4 quarts in flush 4 out shut off truck put 4in flush 4 out or until fluid is clean. Also flush the fluid out by taking the farthest back line on the tranny off running the old fluid into a bucket. My trans fluid is greyish black does not smell burned no particles that is why I need to flush soon tranny works fine with the nasty colored oil should be easy to tell when I got all the old out with this procedure. Also would I need to change the filter again right after the flush? Please cpmment. Thanks Oh and I have the 5 star ats t/c and mag hytec pan I dont think there is a plug on the t/c? Just bought truck notice tranny fluid was nasty.
