disconnected grid heater relays still not charging

I disconnected the fusible links to the grid heaters because i know one is sticking closed and draining the batteries will this still cause the charging system to shut down after a few minutes or about 2 miles?

Your question is way too vague. In simple terms your answer is no, but your question begs the answer to a few more questions. Like how do know the electrical system is not charging? How do you know the grid relays are sticking? What you should know is that dead batteries can and often do kill alternators by over currenting the rectifier diodes.

the batteries were new in feb just cuz they were old. yesterday after parked for seven hours it was dead charged batteries with charger air intake was hot. then while driving cel comes on and voltmeter is at 8 volts. disconnected grid heaters over night and one relay had 12 volts on both sides this morning but batteries didnt drain but when driving it still drops to 8 volts after few minutes
