Lots of CTD owners run Mobil 1 75W90 or Valvoline 75W90, with a few using Amsoil or Royal Purple. I've had great luck with my Valvoline 75W90 Full Synthetic so far.

You'll need to buy 7 quarts......you'll have a little bit left over.
The re-useable gasket utilized on the AAM's is nice, too.

I bought mine from AMSOIL.
Paid the $10 Preferred Customer price and it was about $2 a quart cheaper than the Royal Purple they had on the shelf at O'Reilly!
This is the one I used:

Others are using this:

I put a little over 4 quarts in the rear and I have an 11.5" AAM

If you DO decide to go Amsoil, do yourself a favor and spend the $10 or whatever on their little hand pump. That sucker screws right into the top of all Amsoil containers and makes filling the pumpkins, tcases, and trannys much easier.

I just R & R'd all of the fluids on my Wife's Pathfinder using that little contraption, and it did make life much easier.

I've heard the redline stuff is good also. I am thinking on using the Royal Purple brand. Anyone know if I have to add limited slip adder.

My sig shows the truck detail.

If your asking if you have L/S, couldn't tell by what you have posted, check your window sticker...It came with the TRX package and as a separate option, it would be itemized.

If your asking about the oil being L/S compatible, I can't speak for Purple, but Redline has their part numbers as follows...75W90 and 75W90NS (Non-Slip).

Autozone has the Mobil1 75-90 oil.

Also, our trucks do not need a additive for the LS, only the 1500's require it.

W#L M#RT has a full synthetic in either 75/90 or 75/140. Reasonably priced too.

If you use Royal Purple you do not have to add anything else. I bought mine on e-bay.

3 qts in the front, 4 in the rear, has to be synthetic and GL-5 rated. Don't need any additives, 75W-90 or 75W-140. I got Mobil1 from Autozone for less than $10 a qt.

No friction modifier needed with Royal Purple. On my 2002, I used RP with the friction modifier, and it wiped out the limited slip I had to run non-synthetic for a while to get it working again.

No friction modifier or LS additive needed or even desireable with any full synth axle fluid.

I used Castrol the last time I changed mine.

I'll be changing both my front and rear diff. fluids in a couple thousand miles and will use 75w-90 Amsoil severe gear. BTW the amsoil is GL-5 rated as the owners manual calls for.

Another vote for Mobil 1 75w90 from GhettoZone. Good stuff. Do not add any friction modifiers.
