Diff fluid change

i have been doing some reading in here. Sounds like the seal on the diff's are re-usable. is this true on a 2007? also is it possible just to use RTV and no Seal. The dodge dealership is telling me they can't get me a seal, they use RTV? sounds funny to me if the truck comes with a seal then should'nt dodge put a seal back on it. im not letting them change it i am going to do it, just wanted to know about that seal and how full should i fill a 2007. 11.5 diff?

Yes, there is a reusable or ring that is used. Weird they can't get you one. Genos garage www.genosgarage.com carries them. Yes, you CAN use RTV but using the rubber o-ring that came with is sure is easier to get on and off! Yes the 07's have the sme seal. They have used this same rear axle since 2003. Your stock rear diff will take 4 quarts. DO NOT fill until it comes out the fill hole... 1/4" below or it will foam.
