What most people dont know is this country runs on diesel but all the news talks about is gas this and gas that. If diesel goes up the cost of living goes up. If the oil company's want to put the hurt on us and make top dollar than they are doing a **** good job of it. What sucks is there is nothing we can do. We have to go to work and we have to buy food and as far as i know there is no transporter that can beam up there. In other words.

The real reason for the increase of fuel is the fact that the dollar is loosing its value (purchasing power...also called inflation...when more money enters circulation than before, the proportionate share is less). Only governments can print money, thus, government is causing the problem. You can expect alot MORE inflation due to the fact yesterday, the FED was injecting 100 billion dollars of liquidity. Uncle Sam wants you to think it is the arabs...its not. It is helicopter Ben dropping money out of his helicopter (printing press). A temporary fix would be to open the SPR. But, the government in Europe and the US has a vested interest in higher oil prices because they tax more as a percent of the sales price.

Actually if you look at refining margins (profits made by the refiners), they are actually falling.

We have to get control of our country. I think there should be a high tax on money leaving Country by Western Union. Alot of the ileagel imigrants are sending money out of country. So that is hurting the US dollar.

Plus all the investment money being thrown at the commodities market right now. Opec last week even said there is plenty of oil on the market. Nobody to blame but the clowns in DC.

FWIW, the station down the street from me has diesel at $4.07.
There is also a Cheveron station not to far from me that has had diesel @ 4.30 while everyone else was $3.89
The two stations I wont do business with is Mobile and Exxon.Besides those brands dont have diesel anyway.
In the past, I used to love walking into a station, handing the attendant a $100 dollar bill and tell them that Ill be back for the change.
Now I just wait for the pump to click off.

BigDave, I think the "Politically Correct" way he wanted that was illegal AND legal imigrants. Now do we all feel better. Or is that still too offensive....
