Decceleration

I have a 5.9L CTD and it seems to deccererate very slowly and sometimes stay at peak or other RPMs for a split second. Is this normal? Needs to be fixed? What is it? I'm relatively new to diesels and any input/advice would be greatly appreciated.

It is due to rail pressure build up on acceleration and the slow decay rate on the rail. Typical response, some are worse then others but if yours is just a split second then it is minimal and nothing to be "fixed".
