Has anyone thought about or done a LP mod using a Detroit 60 series pump? Ive been thinking about it. Here's why:
These Pumps are mechanical, pumps are Very reliable and rebuildable if needed, great pressure/volume, Used 60 series pumps can be bought for $100 more or less, and they are pretty quiet.
Im not sure how to drive it. Attach a pulley to it? or direct drive off of something
It may take a bit of fabing. Any one see any flaws this it? maybe its a waste of time. I'm tired of that noisy stock LP on my fuel canister, been replaced 2 times now. I know they make aftermarket mechanical kits, and better than stock electric kits.
Input please.

At the shop I work, we have a 60 Series LP mated to a 1/3 HP eleectic motor with a lovejoy coupler and has two 10' lengths of hose off the pump. we use it to pump diesel, waste oil, coolant, hydraulic oil, etc. It has years of use and abuse and lots of trash run thru it and still pumps like mad.
Very handy tool.

its about the same idea, the 60 pump would work with a little fab work. I have never seen one fail but we always put one on when we put a new compressor in.
