How often should this be replaced? What happens if you don't replace?

The only thing I noticed was the persistent smell of rotella on mine. I guess if you go way too long maybe you pop a hose leading to it? I went 205k on mine, I am sure that is way too long.

 

The OPs question was 'how often this needs to be replaced'. That is my ?? as well

The only think I could find was for the 6.7.... not the 5.9.

They recommend 67k miles. However I believe the one on the 5.9 is more of oil vaptor accumulator than filter. Unless your noticing leaking or anything like that I would leave it alone.

The CCV on a 5.9 does not need to be replaced unless it is leaking from the O-ring.

The CCV on a 6.7 cummins is a diffrent beast due to it's intgeral role in the EGR system, and DOES need to be serviced at intervals.

 

Thank you for the follow up on the CCV. I was getting a little nervous as I have 345k on the clock and never changed it. Thanx again

yes thanks for input , my 5.9 has 155k on it so i should be just fine.
