cooling fan clutch

I have an 04 and the electric clutch on my cooling fan went out, does anyone know if it has to be replaced with the same or can you put an aftermarket one on, if there is one on the market?

I don't think so. The stocker is a bit more complex than you think. It is controlled through the PCM.

How many miles on the truck? Did you have any symtoms, or any advance warning? I'm paranoid about the whole belt/tensioner/fan clutch thing.

I have 65K miles on it and no warning I have had many suprises with my truck, lots of injector problems they are constantly making noises and running like crap, the fan still turns the clutch doesnt work thus causing it to not pull enough air through at an idle.
