Recently I was cruising down the highway and truck started shaking and running rough, smoke out the pipe and egt's were up. Pulled over and read these 2 codes p2146 and p0203. Cleared them and after about 30 mins I started it back up and drove it home with no problems.
Ok, now 2 weeks later everything has been runnig fine until today I pulled out on the highway and had to get on it pretty hard and got these same 2 codes again. It cleared up and started running fine again after about 1/2 mile.
I have 122k miles and original injectors. So do you all think I have an injector going bad or and actual short in the wires/gasket? I've read a few threads on this same thing but get no definite answer on what the fix usually is.

 

Possible injector or valve cover gasket harness. Get out your ohm meter and start checking harness and injectors resistance. Read diagnostic tests may help. Most likely the gasket common problem, new gasket has been updated for this problem.

bet #3 injector high ohms. pull the plug loose on the first bank and check I think you will find 0.5 ohm on 1, 0.5 ohms on 2 and something like 4 ohms on 3, if 3 is ok, look for a intermittent in the harness if 3 is low look for a short in harness

 

Is there an updated part # for the gasket? I found one online for $133.
