check engine light

check engine light
getting white smoke when starting, rough idle and has stumbled under speed. if i have an injector going south would i not get a "check engine light?"

yeah, an injector that is cracked or leaking by may not set a light if the rail pressure is within limits. if it is pouring into the motor the pressure may be low enough to give a light. check your dipstick, smell it and look at the level. if there is diesel in the oil, DO NOT DRIVE IT. HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. you'll damage the bearings and cylinder walls with that much diesel in it.

just sent you a PM. my truck is showing a fault code of P1740.
i don't think this is an injector but still wondering about the white smoke on start up and rough idle.
