Change ECM unit 2004 DIY...

My ECM unit is broken, possible voltage spike damage to the
ECM. Is it possible to change DIY? If buy used one, all i want to know does truck start truck when changed it without reprogramming?
So i can drive to dealer to do reprogramming later.
my car is so far away dealer that is impossible/ crazy to tow it to dealer.
Has anyone been same problem with ECM?

Exclamation ecm

I cant read codes, no connection from ECM, i have also Bosch KTS 650 diagnose system and no connection ECM, ABS, Trans or anywhere. I have repair manual and when i to all diagnose test and measurements only possible failure is ECM.
truck works fine before and when it shipped to Finland in container problems start(maybe too cold here, when used to be Texas?). Truck driven in container loose battery cables and 3 weeks later connect battery cables and wont run?

You should disconnect the batteries and remove the ECM and clean the connectors on both the ECM and the harness really well. Might take some time to get the harness end done. I'm willing to bet the salt water corroded something just enough to make it stop working right. It's better than swapping ECM's to start with, that can't be cheap!

If your truck has the sentry key a used ecm will not start the truck unless you remove the skim module before plugging in the donor ecm.If the donor ecm came off a skim truck it will not start or run your truck either.

Yes i have done it, no help.
Is there anything else reason why i cant connect to ECM? It is easier if got some fault codes. but now ECM is totally dead.
I measured Battery+ and ground- wires to ECM connector and they are okay. Also wire to ECM to DLC is okay.
