CAT Location Question
#16
Thanks to all who helped with my CAT location question.
I had it put on last week and the next day went to the check station. I passed, no questions asked.
Put it on with exhaust band clamps so if need be I can take it off and put a straight pipe back.
Not real sure yet, but the mileage computer readout(which lies anyway) after about 150 miles has dropped 1 to 1.5 miles per gallon. I'll drive it to the end of the tank, another 225mi., fill it up and check the mileage. then make a decision to put in the straight pipe or not.
Thanks again for the help.
Oh, another thing. Has anyone with a 2006 4x4 CTD had experience with disabling the horn when you use the remote to arm the vehicle alarm? So only the lights blink to acknowledge the alarm is set and not honk the horn when you're locking the truck. Thanks, Phil

while standing outside the truck press and hold the lock button on the remote. after holding the lock button 4 seconds but no more than 10 press and hold the panic button. release both buttons at the same time.
If you still have your owners manual it on pages 23-24. There are also some other things that you can change that are a couple pages back.

Farm Boy 92. that technique worked great.
I went to two, count them, two dealers and neither one could help. They wanted to put it on the computer and charge me $60.00 for their trouble.
Thanks again, Phil

I went through my entire manual within a few days of getting my 06. I then changed it where all doors unlock with one push of the remote and where when i open the driver door all doors unlock.
