Has anyone upgraded there carrier Bearing, The one dodge uses is really rather weak I think that is where the shutter pulling out comes from.
I shimed mine down and got rid of the pull out shutter but when i put the 2K + pin weight of the 5er on it the shutter comes back.
I really think it is cause the rubber in the carrier bearing is wimpy to say the least.
If any one did a up grade what bearing did you use?

I have been in your shoes and done the shim to my truck.
The shim corrects the angle which is great and all.
But your vibes are coming from some fried U joints.

I had 2 fried joints at 22k miles.

Is yours a 6speed or auto?

 

I dont have vibes, If i shim it down it is fine empty but it shutters when i pull out when im loaded, If i dont shim it it shutters pulling out empty and it dont loaded, There is no happy medium. If you look at the carrier breaing there is no suport around it, I think i need one like my ford had it was stiffer.What i need is vido camra to see what it is doing, I cant talk anyone into hanging on with a creeper while i pull out. oh yeah it is a 48RE auto-3:73 gears.

 

That sounds to me like you're calling old " Super Dave " out of retirement .
